Kauai Bike Tour 2014 Day 1

Marissa and I had the opportunity to visit Hawaii at the end of August, so we decided we would make an extra stop in Kauai. The island of Kauai is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and being small we thought it would be the perfect setting for a leisurely tour by bicycle.

Marissa and I bought folding bicycles specifically for the trip so that we could bring them in our suitcases to the islands. We discovered on our trip that folding bicycles are the way to tour and had a blast pedaling around the islands.

Below are some of my favorite photos from day one of our adventure. Our first day was a busy one, starting with a morning flight from Honolulu to Lihue, followed by a short taxi ride to a hotel, then a bike ride to the bus stop, a bus ride all the way north to Princeville, some pineapple coconut shave ice and another short trip on the bikes to the Sea Lodge where we stayed. After settling into our handsome little condo we took a brief hike down to a secluded beach to snorkel and watch the sunset.

It was bliss.
